January: Artist Of The Month – 21 Savage

21 Savage, the UK-born rapper, has had a tremendous start in 2024, which is why we have chosen him to be January’s ‘Artist Of The Month’. Releasing his third studio album, titled ‘american dream‘, Savage did not shy away from delivering a Hip-Hop anthem.

There’s no doubt that Savage’s album was the highlight of Rap music this month. Songs like ‘redrum’ and ‘neé-nah’ received much appraisal from the music community. The LP was stacked with powerful collaborators, including artists like, Doja Cat, Young Thug, Metro Boomin, Travis Scott, and Summer Walker. Additionally, we saw the appearance of Lil Durk, Burna Boy, Brent Faiyaz, and Mariah the Scientist.

21 Savage – redrum

Besides music, 21 Savage announced a film produced by Lionsgate to accompany the album. However, the film won’t be released until early summer of 2024. The movie is said to showcase the rapper’s life story, with actor and musician Donald Glover portraying Savage as a young adult. Additionally, the actor from Stranger Things, Caleb McLaughlin, will also portray Savage as a teen.

Before 21’s top-tier album release, he completed a Europe Tour after finally obtaining his green card. The tour featured shows in Paris, Berlin, and London, where he sold out the O2 arena. Savage was previously unable to leave the United States because of migrating to the country from a young age. Thankfully, in October of 2023, he received his green card and obtained citizenship in the United States, to then go on a European tour.

Above all, Savage continues to prove his immense ability to create music we love. The Rap industry is a tough boat to sail, but 21 remains on top amongst the best artists.
